Cleanse, Tone & Moisturize!

Essential Skeyndor Cleanser(Left), Skeyndor moisturizer(middle), Skeyndor Toner(Right)

Who doesn't want great flawless looking skin? The first step in having the right skin care products for your skin regimen is finding out your skin type. For many, it may be simple just cleanse your face with lukewarm or cold water and thats it. For others, the process may require more attention. There are mainly 4 common skin types: dry, normal, combination, and oily skins.

Listed are some certain facial indicators to look for when determining your skin type..
Dry skin - looks flaky, feels rough, scaly, no visible pores
Normal skin - small-medium pore size, smooth and firm to touch
Combination skin - can be oily and dry, or normal and oily. Pore size is seen to be medium-large
Oily skin - Visibly shiny, pore sizes are larger, prone to breakouts
The best way find out what your skin type is consulting a certified esthetician who can use the proper techniques and tools to further analyze and determine your skin type.

Different skin types require the use of specialized cleansers however the most fancy or expensive products are not necessary. Every skin type has a certain routine that should be followed to get the best results out of your regimen. It's simple... Cleanse, Tone and Moisturize!

1) CLEANSE:
Start by refraining from touching your face every so often. This can lead to unwanted breakouts.
Also when drying your face use a soft tissue, avoiding a towel which holds on to unwanted bacteria.
Cleansers should be used twice a day, once in the morning and once before bedtime.
Cleansing gels are recommended for people with oily skin as they are designed to dissolve oil.
Cleansing lotions are recommended for normal and combination skin as they do not strip the skins oils or pH balance. Milky Cleansers are recommended are dry skin, rejuvenating the skin with oils and leaving it soft.
Cleanse your face in a circular motion going from the chin up to the cheeks and wash off with Luke warm or cold water.

2) TONE:
Toners can be classified in 3 categories.. toners, fresheners and astringents.
Toners have a high alcohol content and used for normal to combination skin. (Tones and tightens)
Fresheners have the lowest alcohol content and are used for dry and mature skin.
Astringents have the highest alcohol content and are used on acne and oily skin, drying it out.
Toners can be applied on the skin directly by spraying or applying it on a cotton pad and spreading it before applying the moisturizer.

3) MOISTURIZE:
Moisturizers are used to protect and nourish the skin and should be used daily with your cleansing alongside toning. Moisturizers can also be used as a base for makeup application.
Applying a moisturizer is still important for oily skin as it still needs hydration. Alongside moisturizing, sunscreen is also important to apply to the skin for protection against UV radiation. As sun exposure does lead to skin cancers.

Your products don't have to be the top shelf lines on the market, but be sure to choose the product that fits your skin's needs, or consult an esthetician for better guidance. As an esthetician, I personally love Skeyndor's line of skincare products. The products are fruit and vegetable based and are made in spain; there are concentrations of  healthy ingredients which target my skin needs.

Start today by Dressing your skin in a cleanser, toner and moisturizer and see the difference :)
